ASEAN-China Summit, dadaluhan ni Pres. Marcos Jr.

Sunod-sunod parin ang mga schedule ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr. sa nagpapatuloy na 43rd ASEAN Summit dito sa Jakarta Indonesia.

Katunayan, pinaka-unang agenda ngayong Miyerkules, September 6 ang ASEAN-China Summit.

Dito inaasahan na mapag-uusapan ang mga isyu sa South China Sea.

Pero bago paman ang ASEAN-China Summit, nauna nang sinabi ni PBBM sa harap ng kapwa ASEAN leaders ang karapatan ng Pilipinas sa kaniyang mga teritoryo.

At ang paggiit sa karapatan na ito sa mapayapang pamamaraan.

“We remain committed to the peaceful resolution of disputes in the South China Sea, in accordance with international law. We will continue to uphold, and exercise freedom of navigation and overflight in the South China Sea, in accordance with international law, including, of course, the 1982 UNCLOS,” ayon kay Pres. Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.

Kamakailan, naglabas ng bagong 10-dash line map ang China sa South China Sea.

Pero, nauna nang sinabi ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na hindi katanggap-tanggap ang bagong mapa sa Pilipinas.

“The Philippines firmly rejects misleading narratives that frame the disputes in the South China Sea solely through the lens of strategic competition between two powerful countries. This not only denies us our independence, our agency, but it also disregards our own legitimate interests,” dagdag pa ng pangulo.

Inaasahan na dadalo sa ASEAN-China Summit si Premier Li Quiang.

Nauna nang sinabi ng China na ang pagsuporta nila sa regional cooperation.

Lalo na sa mga bansang kasapi ng ASEAN.

“Once more, we call upon all parties for self-restraint on all activities that complicate disputes in the South China Sea. We must not undermine regional peace, stability, and security. We cannot emphasize enough that actions, not words, should be the ultimate measure of our commitment to securing peace and stability in the South China Sea,” saad pa nito.
