NTC, ipinahihinto na ang operasyon ng ABS-CBN

Ipinahihinto na ng National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ang operasyon ng ABS-CBN.

Inilabas ngayong hapon ng NTC ang ‘Cease and Desist Order’ na kung saan ipinatitigil na ang pag-ere ng lahat ng TV at radio broadcasting stations na nasa ilalim ng ABS-CBN network sa buong bansa.

Ito ay habang wala pang Congressional Franchise ang naturang network na siyang kinakailangan sa ilalim ng  batas.

Kahapon, Mayo 4  nang tuluyang mapaso ang prangkisa ng ABS-CBN.

Binigyan naman ng 10 araw ang broadcasting network mula sa araw na matanggap ang order na sumagot sa rito.

Samantala, sinabi naman ni Senador Bong Go na nasa kamay na ng Kongreso ang isyu ng franchise renewal ng ABS-CBN.

“The matter of allowing ABS-CBN to operate after the National Telecommunications Commission issued a Cease-and-Desist Order against the media corporation is now with the House of Representatives.

There is a bill seeking to renew the franchise of the media corporation now pending before the Lower House. Now that session has already resumed, I am urging the House of Representatives to act on this matter with due haste. Upon reaching the Senate and once we have had a chance to conduct our own hearings on the matter, that is when I will decide and vote according to my conscience and the interest of the Filipino people,” pahayag ni Go.
