Dahil gustong makapiling ang anak, mag-asawang NPA sumuko

Hindi na matiis ng isang magasawang rebelde ang buhay sa bundok at pangungulila dahilan upang sila ay sumuko na sa pamahalaan para sa kanilang anak.

Noong Biyernes nang sumuko sa 73rd Infantry Battalion ng 10th Infantry Division ng Philippine Army ang magasawang rebelde na kinilala sa alyas na Toy at Len.

Si alyas Toy ay 23 anyos, taga Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental ay isang CO Platoon Central ng WGF TALA, FSMR habang ang asawa nitong si alyas Len ay 25 anyos, taga Malapatan, Sarangani ay ang Front Medical Officer, WGF TALA, FSMR.

Ayon sa mag-asawa nais nilang makasama na ang kanilang anak at mamuhay ng tahimik.

“We were just looking for a chance to surrender. We want to be with our son and take care of him. We were blinded by the false promises of the NPA that they will support our family. In reality, they do not care” saad pa ni alyas Len.

“We roam in the mountain every day and it is so difficult. The crisis we are experiencing is twice the crisis in the lowland. We only eat once a day. We are afraid of what our future will be if we still stay in the organization.” dagdag naman ni alyas Toy.

Personal naman na binigyan ni Lt. Col. Ronaldo G Valdez, Commander 73IB, ng pinansyal na ayuda ang mag-asawa.

“Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we expect more surrenderees. The effort of LGUs, PNP, AFP and former rebels proves to be effective in convincing the NPA to surrender. We will make sure that the couple will meet their son and will avail the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the government.” sabi pa no Lt. Col. Valdez.
