Mocha Uson, pinatatawag ng NBI dahil sa umano’y pagpapakalat ng fake news

Pinatatawag ng National Bureau of Investigation si Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Deputy Administrator Margaux “Mocha” Uson dahil sa umano’y pagpapakalat ng fake news.

Ito ay kaugnay sa post ni Uson sa kanyang Facebook page ng larawan ng mga PPEs na binili umano ng Department of Health. Maraming netizens ang pumuna rito at sinabing ito ay donation ng isang mall chain, at hindi ng pamahalaan.

Alinsunod sa Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, mananagot si Uson sa batas. Ayon sa Section 6 (f) ng naturang batas:

“Individuals or groups creating, perpetuating, or spreading false information regarding the COVID-19 crisis on social media and other platforms, such information having no valid of beneficial effect on the population, and are clearly geared to promote chaos, panic, anarchy, fear, or confusion; and those participating in cyber incidents that make us or take advantage of the current crisis situation to prey on the public through scams, phishing, fraudulent emails, or other similar acts.”
