Demokrasya, ‘di sinusunod ni PBBM – FPRRD

Binalaan ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Pangulong Bongbong Marcos sa pinakahuling pagharap ng dating presidente sa media sa Davao City.

Ito’y matapos tanungin ng mga media si dating Pangulong Duterte kung ano ang masasabi nito sa nangyaring tensyon ngayon sa Davao del Norte kasunod ng inilabas na 60-day suspension order kay Governor Edwin Jubahib mula sa Office of the President (OP).

Batay sa suspension order na inilabas noong April 8, na may lagda ni Executive Order Sec. Lucas Bersamin, nahaharap si Jubahib sa isang reklamo hinggil sa umanoy “grave abuse of authority” at “oppression” na inihain ni Board Member Orly Amit noong November 24, 2022.

Ang naturang suspension order ay epektibo noong Huwebes, Abril 11.

Dahil dito, posibleng makansela ang Maisug Rally sa Abril 14, na gaganapin sa capitol grounds sa Tagum City matapos na umano’y ipagbawal ng inilagay na si acting Governor Carlo ‘Oyo’ Uy ang pagsasagawa ng rally sa probinsya.

Sa panig ni FPRRD, ang hakbang ng Maisug Rally ay wala namang kinalaman sana sa politika kung kaya’t sakaling totoong may kaugnayan ang suspension order ni Jubahib dito, hindi nito maintindihan kung bakit kailangan pa itong mangyari.

Binigyang-diin ni FPRRD nakung magpapatuloy ang ganitong uri ng pamamalakad ni Marcos sa bansa, posibleng may gagawin na siya hinggil dito.

“Iyan ang magandang tanong. Iyang Maisug, it has nothing to do with politics. What is very unbelievable to me, walang notice, wala lahat. Basta sinabi lang sa kanya, umalis ka.”

“Alam mo, we are drifting into that kind of set-up which I think to me is very important for the president to realize it. Mr. president, hindi mo na sinusunod ‘yung demokrasya and you are veering towards a more authoritarian [government]. Mahirap iyan. Hindi sinanay ang Pilipino. I am just warning you. Ako, isa talaga sa hindi papayag. Kung magtanong ka what I intend to do, I will raise hell one day and I would ask the military and the police to join me not to force you out of the office. We will just air our sentiment for you not to forget that the Philippines is a democratic state.”

“Itong nangyari kay governor, basta na lang pinaalam sa kanya na umalis ka. It violates the due process of law. Very important iyang “no person shall be denied the equal protection of the Constitution.”

“Tanggalin mo ang tao mo na walang rason, and you must remember, that the governor of North Davao has been elected by the people. Hindi iyan trabahante na in-appoint mo tapos tanggalin mo. We have to respect the will of the people of that North Davao. For respeto naman.”

“You are veering dangerously close to being an authoritarian government. Ako, sinasabi ko sa iyo, kasi hindi ko nagustuhan iyong style mo. Walang due process of law. If he had committed a wrong, may masama siyang ginawa, imbestigahin mo. Ano ba iyan? **” ayon kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
